I've been listening to an amazing songwriter/singer over the last month called Dave Matthews. You might have heard of him in the Dave Matthews Band. Well, he has majorly inspired me in my own music and songwriting and I just wanted to drop a couple of lines from one of the songs he performs on the "live at radiocity" show. Now this song was not written by Dave, but it is a beautiful song written by Daniel Lanois. The song is called 'The Maker' and if you get a chance to listen to it fully, I highly recommend the album as a whole. So the lyric goes:
'I could not see, for the fog in my eyes,
and I could not feel, for the pain in my life'
The first time I heard the song, it made me cry, and then cry during subsequent listenings. I think more than anything, I love the rawness of the lyric, and the honesty of the ezpression. It reminded me how pain and blindness (not physical) can inhibit us on our adventures through life.

A new chapter.
It's been quite a while since I have written and as life has had it's twists and turns, I felt it was time to get back on the horse. I feel it is important to say that part of the reason I am writing is to stay in touch with my dear friends, the Jensen family, who flew back home a couple of days ago to the US. I have also been inspired by John and the witness his blog has been to people on the net, in speaking about Jesus, faith and community.
I hope that through this blog, I can share my thoughts and experiences and hopefully connect with others who are attempting to live a life of faith.
This first entry will be relatively short, a simple introduction but more will definately follow as I pull together my thoughts. As I sit here typing this, the wind blows wildly outside and it reminds me that the winds of change are ever so present. As this time seems to be the beginning and the end of a chapter for many people around me, I look forward with child-like curiosity to the future and what is to come.
